About Julian......
Julian first studied the classical guitar from the age of 8, and has developed his style over the course of the next 25 years to include just about anything! Julian studied Music and teaching at Exeter University, and now works as a music teacher, as well a musical entertainer.
Julian first performed as a Spanish Classical Guitarist, and has since studied Jazz, Latin and Popular guitar to develop a style that is fantastically suited to the world of hotels (which he plays weekly), wedding ceremonies and receptions. His original arrangements of popular songs onto a Spanish flamenco guitar are truly unique, including famous popular songs such as Blue Moon and Guantanamerea.
In a quest to provide a style to suit all types and situations, Julian also developed his vocal style to produce a range of original arrangements to suit all ages of audience. Most performance situations, whether in solo or duo, see Julian including vocal pieces as part of the repertoire. Julian has a smooth voice with a big range that highly compliments the timbre of the nylon strung guitar.
The option to play as part of a duo that Julian regularly performs in, gives the audience the chance to engage in some lively repertoire from some great Jazz standards to modern day classics or some blisteringly fast flamenco or Gypsy King favourites. The duo also regularly perform as an 'acoustic vocal duo' performing everything from Coldplay to The Kinks.

This uses the very best internal Headway microphone pickup, coupled with superb natural sounding Roland Acoustic amplification allowing for beautiful faithful reproduction of both the guitar and vocals. What you hear is a totally clear and natural sound. These modern amplifiers are extremely small, and in fact even as a trio, the equipment is subtle and minimal. |
